Beauty as: necessary, fortifying, and meaningful - not vain and frivolous.
I think of Dan Savage saying: “During the darkest days of the AIDS Crisis, we buried our friends in the morning, we protested in the afternoon and we danced all night. The dance kept us in the fight because it was the dance we were fighting for.”
Yes! Choose beauty, choose to hear the world turn, this makes my synapses scintillate with joy. On a similar note, I've been gone from home for a week. When I'm somewhere that's where I am, minimal thoughts of where I was. Upon returning home the life drama thoughts of home thought about moving back in, and mysteriously my hand went up. "Wait", I told them. Maybe I don't need you. What was in that airplane air conditioner? Kazaam! Hear the earth turn and the birds sing.
